No one anticipated the enormous success the museum has had, or that the museum would receive “The European Museum of the Year Award" in 2001 in Pisa. It just confirms that the museum is something extraordinary.
Find out about the cultural history of Härjedalen. Be fascinated by how the Same people, mountain farmers, or foundry men lived in the old days. There is something for every age and all senses to discover, examine, touch or be surprised by. The museum is made especially for children together with adults.
The tourist office is in the same building, as well as an auditorium that can seat 126 people, and a self-serve cafeteria. A multislide presentation that will appeal to everyone is shown in the auditorium with regular intervals. The auditorium is fully equipped for conferences.
